Is your home looking dreary on the inside? Sliding doors can be a perfect way to brighten your home while saving space. Perth has plenty of sunshine and homes should be built in a way to take advantage of that sunshine. There is a documented connection between sunlight deprivation and both depression and vitamin D deficiency. A sliding door may be just what the doctor ordered.
Saves Space
A sliding door saves space because you don’t have to clear an area for it to swing. You can choose from a top hung sliding door, which is built on a concealed track and hung by two trolley hangers, or a bottom rolling sliding door, which slides on the floor. Both save space because the sliding door has two panels: one that moves and one that doesn’t. The moving panel slides in beside the stationary panel, so it doesn’t need any extra space.
Let There Be Light
Sliding doors let in a lot more light because they are made of glass with a timber frame. The large glass panels allow light to come in and give you a great view of your surroundings. This gives your home a much more modern look and also creates the illusion of more space in the home.
Fremantle Door & Window: Local and Sustainable
At Fremantle Door & Window Company, our sliding doors are framed with timber that is harvested from 100% sustainable and ethical sources. The timber is exterior grade timber that often outlives the rest of the house. Our glass panels are made right here in WA and the doors are assembled at our facility on O’Connor.
We use tenon joinery, traditional stile and rail construction and marine grade adhesive. The end result is a door that is strong, durable and beautiful.
