You’ve all seen French doors. They are usually painted white and have numerous small panes of glass on each door, separated by timber dowels called muntins. Traditional French doors look like tic tac toe boards waiting for someone to draw X’s and O’s on them. But we don’t just make traditional French doors. We make modern French doors.
Any set of doors that has two doors side by side, swinging out, can be called French door. In contemporary design, the old style of French doors is “out,” replaced by a lot of creativity and some modern touches that provide a variety of different looks.
When we design these doors, we take a lot of factors into consideration. The most important is your feedback. If you bring us pictures or drawings of French doors you like, we can make them to your specifications. But we can also handle the design ourselves by getting an idea of what you want and what your home currently looks like.
Together, we can get with you and design a set of French doors that is uniquely yours. We can incorporate the traditional look with muntins or we can just give you two solid timber frames with one pane of glass in the middle. Most of our designs, though, are somewhere in between those two extremes.
How We Build Our French Doors
Our doors may be modern and cutting edge, but we build them with old world techniques. This includes solid exterior grade timber that is locally sourced, along with weatherproof glass manufactured for us here in WA. We use stile and tenon joinery and marine grade adhesive to ensure your doors last a long time.
